'Who Am I?'

My focus for the exhibition was to shine a light on the aspects of life we often ignore, whether that’s through embarrassment, ego or the inability to talk. We all suffer with who we are. What prompted this was the simple question, “Who Am I?”. I wondered how many people could answer that question and decided to go from there. I have achieved this through printing onto a variety of materials in black ink and in the neutral tones to make the pieces stand out against the stark white walls. This was inspired the work of Alice Oseman as the themes she explores shed light on the topics I wish to show. Mental health in teenagers is often overlooked and her books show the harsh reality. This way of discussing the topic allows people to understand the problems many face in silence. I don’t want problems we are facing now to continue due to the ignorance of those not wanting to change their view on the world. Ignorance has a hold on the world and it needs to stop.
